Four active Manhattan construction sites are scheduled for OATH/ECB hearings on October 15, each already found "in violation" per DOB's hearing-status record, with fines totaling $7,250 across the four tickets.
At 557 Broadway in SoHo, a demolition site run under respondent J A Jennings Inc was cited August 6 after an inspector — DOB's record lists the finding as "ATOI observed" (at time of inspection) — found debris and demolition materials scattered across the fourth floor, logged as a housekeeping violation under code B212. The fine is $1,250. Compliance status shows "All Terms Met."
At 1009 Second Avenue, respondent New York Certified Inter[nal] was cited the same day, August 6, for an active suspended scaffold whose tie-back location did not match approved drawings — the outrigger beam attachment was at the rear rather than the front shown in the filed plans. That's a B282 charge, work not conforming to approved construction documents, also $1,250, also marked compliant.
At 111 Wall Street, general contractor 111 Wall GC LLC was cited August 6 after DOB responded to a report of a worker slipping and falling on the 14th floor. The violation record says inspectors found water and slurry from wet-drilled holes had not been cleaned up, creating the housekeeping condition cited under B212. Fine: $1,250, compliance status "All Terms Met."
And at 1414 Avenue of the Americas, Skyline Restoration Inc was cited August 5 for a sidewalk shed with materials and debris stored across its entire length, plus a design-location discrepancy against approved drawings — another B282 nonconformance charge, $1,250, compliant.
All four hearings are calendared for October 15 at Manhattan's OATH tribunal (Manhattan9), 8:30 a.m. Per DOB/OATH records, all four firms have already satisfied their penalty terms — none carries a balance due. No injuries beyond the reported slip-and-fall at 111 Wall Street are reflected in any of the four tickets, and none of the four cases involves a stop-work order.
Separately, a fifth Manhattan case — Triumph Hotels LLC at 12 East 31st Street — faces an October 15 hearing over a Local Law 11 facade finding: unsecured objects spotted on a 13th-floor window sill at the building's east elevation, a $2,500 B204 facade-maintenance charge. That one also shows full compliance.
For contractors bidding or subbing in these buildings, the pattern is instructive even though every case here is paid up: DOB is actively citing active job sites — not just old facades — for basic housekeeping and documents-vs.-field discrepancies, and resolving them fast enough that balances clear before the hearing date. Keep daily site photos and as-built scaffold/shed drawings on hand; a B282 citation for an undocumented field change is cheap only if you fix the paperwork before the next inspection.
