The Department of Buildings logged five construction-related incidents across Manhattan and Queens between August 26 and September 3, per DOB's Construction-Related Incidents dataset. Four of the five carried an injury. None listed a fatality.

Two of those five are coded 'Worker Fell,' back to back. On August 26, DOB recorded a fall at 261 Eleventh Avenue in Manhattan, BIN 1079184, with one injury. The next day, August 27, another fall was logged at 180 East 125th Street in Manhattan, BIN 1091630, also one injury.

The other three incidents are coded 'Other Construction Related.' An accident at 100 Wall Street in lower Manhattan, BIN 1000875, on August 28 reported one injury. A report at 635 West 165th Street in Manhattan, BIN 1091883, on September 3 also listed one injury. A report at 29-10 Northern Boulevard in Long Island City, Queens, BIN 4624330, on September 2 listed no injury.

Separately, DOB's ECB Violations dataset shows 18 new construction-related violations served September 1 across four boroughs, most carrying the standard $1,250 penalty for work without a permit or failure to maintain a building in a code-compliant manner. A few carry more specific safety content.

At 1636 Eastern Parkway in Brooklyn, respondent Lucky Investor LLC was cited twice: once for gas piping and fittings installed to bypass the gas meters serving two apartments and the boiler, and once for flex hoses illegally connecting house piping to utility service after the meter was removed. Both cite the Fuel Gas Code and are set for a November 6 hearing, per DOB records.

At 1615 Hillside Avenue in New Hyde Park, Hunt B Construction Inc was cited after an inspector found no handrail at the front steps and no guardrail at the porch — DOB's own violation description calls it a fall hazard. That hearing is set for November 10.

At 155 West 72nd Street in Manhattan, JJS Real Estate General Partnership was cited after an inspector found the second-egress stairway door out of plumb and difficult to open. That hearing is set for November 5.

For scale: DOB's complaint intake logged roughly 100 new construction-related complaints citywide in the same window, per the Complaints Received dataset — a normal volume, and each one is an open, unverified complaint until DOB inspects and closes it, not a finding of anything.

No M/WBE status is listed in any of these DOB records.

None of the incidents above were coded fatal, and none of the violations are emergency orders on their face — all are pending, per DOB, and none has been adjudicated. But two falls in two days on Manhattan sites, plus an active gas-bypass citation in Brooklyn, is the kind of week a safety manager wants on the radar before an insurer or a reporter finds it first.
