NYC Health + Hospitals is taking bids to build out dialysis space at H+H/Queens, 82-68 164th Street in Jamaica. It’s solicitation 34202301, and bids close November 12 at 11 a.m. The work, per our board: convert existing space into a home dialysis training center, plus window replacement, a new entry door, masonry infill and an ADA concrete ramp.
Here’s the catch. The pre-bid meetings were mandatory, and they’re done. They were set for September 30 and October 1, both at 10 a.m., in the hospital’s facilities management office. The notice leaves no wiggle room: “Only bidders who attend the mandatory pre-bid meeting will be allowed to bid.” If you’re a GC who wasn’t there, this one’s gone. If you were, written technical questions are due October 8 by 5 p.m.
Our board record carries no estimate. The M/WBE goal is 30% on any bid of $500,000 or more, under the state’s Article 15A, and the notice says bidders who don’t comply will have their bids declared non-responsive. The H+H Project Labor Agreement applies, and certified payrolls go in electronically through NYC eComply.
So who is this story for now? Subs. Masonry, glazing, doors and the concrete for that ramp all get priced through the firms that made the meeting, and any of them bidding $500,000 or more needs M/WBE numbers to clear 30%. Find them this week. November 12 at 11 a.m. doesn’t move because you found out late.
