The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey is taking bids on “LaGuardia Airport – Rehabilitation of Taxilane 0,” advertised in the New York State Contract Reporter as CR#2139570. Bids are due November 5.

That’s close to everything our board record holds. Our board record carries no trade, no bid time, no dollar value and no plan-holder count, and the location line reads “SEE DOCUMENT.” Whatever this rehab turns out to be, you’ll size it from the documents, not the ad.

So why spend a minute on a thin listing? Because airfield rehab at LaGuardia is a narrow lane of work, and the firms that chase it read the package early. A November 5 due date leaves room to pull it, read it and decide. It doesn’t leave room to wait until the last week of October.

Next step: pull the documents now. Look for the bid time, any pre-bid meeting, the DBE or M/WBE goals and the bonding requirement, none of which is on our board yet. Confirm the November 5 date against the Port Authority’s own documents before you commit estimating hours.
