Yonkers wants a contractor on call for roofing, no job too small to phone in. The city's Empire State Purchasing Group posting (RFI-003192) is a term contract — not a single roof, but a standing arrangement to fix whatever leaks next, due October 16. It's the city's third roofing solicitation in two weeks, alongside repairs at two other locations and the Scotti Community Center roof replacement, so whoever lands this one is going to be busy through the winter.
Fifteen minutes down the road, Pleasantville is putting its athletic fields back together. The Village has a restoration job out for several fields (RFI-003186), also due October 16, also on Empire State Purchasing Group — sitework and turf money, not glamorous, but real and recurring for anyone who does municipal fields.
North Castle is underground work: the Town is replacing a stretch of gravity sanitary sewer main on Schultz Way in Armonk (RFI-003122), due October 19. Old pipe out, new pipe in kind — a straightforward dig-and-replace that a small utility contractor can price fast without a mobilization headache.
And Philipstown is doing the same thing with stormwater instead of sewage — a culvert replacement on East Mountain Road North (RFI-003184), also due October 19. This one's a trap for anyone used to downloading specs from a portal: the documents are paper only, $50 a set, pick-up only at the Town Clerk's office in Cold Spring, refundable when you return them. A 5% bid security is required, so budget the trip and the bond both.
All four of these bids are registration-gated on the Empire State Purchasing Group site except Philipstown, which is old-school paper. None of them carry a posted estimate — which is normal for small municipal work, not a red flag — so the smart move is to call the contact on the posting and get a sense of scale before you spend estimating hours. For a one- or two-crew outfit, this is exactly the kind of week where four small towns' worth of maintenance work adds up to a full calendar.
