The Department of Housing Preservation and Development registered two contracts naming the New York City Housing Authority as awardee for waste yard work at Bronx public housing developments, according to NYC Comptroller's Checkbook NYC.
The larger is $3.97 million for waste yard construction at Patterson Houses, registered October 1, 2026 and running through June 29, 2029. The second is $3.58 million for waste yard renovation at Marble Hill Houses, registered September 29, 2026 and running through March 30, 2030. Both were awarded through a multiple-awards method and are listed as non-M/WBE contracts.
Waste yards are the enclosed trash and recycling collection areas at NYCHA campuses — not a glamorous scope, but a recurring one across the authority's older developments, where yards built decades ago don't meet current containerization or drainage standards.
The two contracts combined total $7.55 million and carry different end dates nearly a year apart, so a sub working one site shouldn't assume the other follows the same schedule. Firms chasing NYCHA sitework should watch for more waste yard packages under this same HPD-to-NYCHA registration pattern — two in consecutive weeks is usually a sign of more to come, not a one-off.
