A stop-work order issued September 26 at 6 Bayly Place in Huntington Station did not stop the work, according to a DOB violation issued September 29.

Per DOB ECB records, an inspector returned to the site — BIN 4625280, block 12956, lot 1 — and found "two plumbers on duties" still active, with Stop Work Order OP-71-26-06331 still in effect. The violation notes the posted stop-work notice itself had been defaced.

DOB cited the respondent, JFZ Construction Inc., under Administrative Code 28-207.2.2 — unlawfully continuing work during a stop-work order — one of the more serious infractions in the agency's code because it treats a live order as an active instruction, not a suggestion. The violation is Class 1, the top severity tier, and carries a $10,000 penalty, by far the largest in this week's batch of new ECB filings.

The violation is active with a balance due of $10,000 and a hearing scheduled for December 8 at 9:30 a.m. Hearing status is listed as pending; no determination of guilt has been made.
