The Town of Philipstown in Putnam County wants bids on a culvert replacement on East Mountain Road North, due October 19 at 11 a.m. at the Town Clerk's office.

This one's old school -- no online plan room, no digital download. You pick up the paper bid documents in person at the Town Clerk's office in Cold Spring, and it'll cost you $50 a set, though you get that back. A 5% bid security is required, so budget for that on top of the document fee.

That's about all the posting gives: the location, the due date and time, the document pickup cost, and the bid security requirement. No dollar estimate, no solicitation number, no trade classification beyond the obvious drainage and sitework nature of a culvert job.

Philipstown's been steadily working through drainage problems on this stretch of town -- they put out bids for the East Mountain Road South channel widening back in July and for South Mountain Pass and East Mountain Road South drainage work back in April, the kind of longstanding erosion issues that keep showing up after rainstorms. If you've bid or worked any of those earlier jobs, this culvert replacement is more of the same corridor and probably similar conditions.

If you do drainage or culvert work and know the area, get down to the Town Clerk's office in Cold Spring, pay your $50, and get the paper set before October 19 at 11 a.m.
