One contractor posted MWBE and SDVOB subcontractor outreach ads for three different jobs on the same day. Vernon Construction & Development LLC put out notices on October 5 for a Baruch College IT Building renovation, a separate Baruch College South Campus boilers-and-asbestos-abatement job, and a Queens hospital dialysis space build-out — three unrelated projects, three separate outreach ads, one general contractor.
The spread tells you something about Vernon's current workload. The Baruch IT Building renovation (bids due October 26) and the Baruch boilers and asbestos job (bids due November 2) are both CUNY work on the same campus, which is common enough — a GC that's in with the college once tends to chase more of it. The Queens job is different work entirely: dialysis space construction at 82-68 164th Street, flagged PLA/union, with bids due November 6.
“Three unrelated projects, three separate outreach ads, one general contractor.”
If you're a subcontractor working toward MWBE or SDVOB participation goals, that's three live doors from the same prime in a single month, not one. Abatement subs should look at the Baruch boilers job first — asbestos abatement paired with mechanical work is a specific scope, and the earlier Baruch IT job may pull from a different sub pool entirely.
None of these three postings carry an engineer's estimate or a bidder count in the public record yet — they're subcontractor solicitation ads, not bid tabs, and CUNY does not post plan-holder lists the way some agencies do. Reach out to Vernon directly through the ad channel if you want in on any of the three; the earliest due date, the Baruch IT renovation, closes October 26.
