The bigger one: the York College Science Building HVAC upgrade in Jamaica, Queens — solicitation 376920 — was originally due September 3 and now closes October 15 at 2 p.m. That's roughly six extra weeks on a mechanical package carrying goals of 18 percent MBE, 12 percent WBE and 6 percent SDVOB. A bidder who walked away a week ago just got the job handed back.

The second: the Brooklyn College fire pump replacement — solicitation 381860, contract C869 — moved from September 9 to September 23 at 2 p.m. Two more weeks for plumbing and fire-protection shops to price it.

Both dates are confirmed on DASNY's own opportunities listing, and both jobs ride our board with the new dates — York College as RFI-000105, Brooklyn College as RFI-001530. The standing lesson of every extension: check the agency's listing the morning you bid, because dates move, and the movement itself is often the opening.
