Ten residential developments now underway across Jersey City will add more than 1,750 housing units to the city's waterfront and downtown submarkets, according to a roundup of active permits and filings reported by New York YIMBY.

The projects range from mid-rise infill buildings to larger towers, spread across neighborhoods including Journal Square, downtown Jersey City, and the waterfront corridor — the same stretch where Port Imperial and other Hudson County towers have been leasing up this year, as The RFI Wire has reported.

New York YIMBY compiled the list from public permit filings and developer announcements; the publication did not break out a single master schedule of bid dates or general contractors for the ten jobs, and individual projects are at different stages, from foundation work to near-completion framing.

Jersey City's building department issues permits site by site, and GCs and subs chasing this pipeline need to track each filing separately rather than assume one procurement calendar covers all ten. The city's own permit portal is the authoritative record for status on any single address.

First reported by New York YIMBY, whose count of ten projects and 1,750-plus units is the only published tally pulling these filings into one list as of this week.
