Seven new complaints entered the Department of Buildings' system in the past two days, spanning four boroughs — a routine volume for the citywide queue and, per DOB records, not itself evidence of any confirmed condition at any address.
The complaints touch a mix of categories: an elevator complaint at 64-11 99th Street in Queens (BIN 4050798), a separate elevator complaint at 42-18 Bell Boulevard in Bayside, Queens (BIN 4138219), and general construction-related complaints in Astoria (20-30 Steinway Street, BIN 4016088), Crown Heights/Prospect Heights (573 Classon Avenue, Brooklyn, BIN 3428915), Riverdale (5992 Netherland Avenue, Bronx, BIN 2086349), and two addresses on 92nd and 97th Streets in Ozone Park, Queens (BINs 4620225 and 4188631).
Every one of these carries ACTIVE status as of September 29, 2026, per DOB records, meaning no inspection disposition has yet been logged. A complaint number and an active status confirm only that someone reported a condition — not that DOB has substantiated it, and not who, if anyone, is at fault.
Separately, two items recirculating in local coverage this week — reports of worker injuries at an evacuated Midtown tower and debris from a jail construction site in Downtown Brooklyn — are dated to stories originally published in July and June of this year, respectively. Neither carries a DOB incident record in the data reviewed for this cycle, and neither included site-specific permit or violation history to report as background. Both are being held pending an official record or updated on-the-record reporting.
For contractors working near any of the seven addresses above, an active complaint is a signal to expect a DOB inspector visit, not a citation — worth knowing before scheduling site logistics or deliveries this week.
