CORRECTION, August 17, 2026: This article, published August 13, reported that the DCAS accessibility renovation of Kings County Supreme Court at 360 Adams Street (EPIN 85624B0007) opened that morning at 10 a.m. per Addendum 3, and that commercial bid calendars listing the job at September 16 were wrong. That was backward. DCAS issued Addendum 4 on August 3 — ten days before we published — extending the due date and bid opening to Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. The bid did not open on August 13 and remains open. The September 16 date the commercial calendars carried was correct, and the count in the original headline was twenty-four, not twenty-five. The error was ours and it came from our own sourcing: the City Record's online notice for this solicitation is a single record the agency edits in place, not an addenda log. It was updated for Addendum 3 and never updated for Addendum 4 — as of this writing it still shows an August 13 due date, as does the City's open-data mirror of it, and neither extension was reprinted in the printed City Record. We treated that record as the agency's controlling document. It is not; the addendum PDFs posted to the PASSPort Documents tab are. Our rule has changed accordingly: no city bid date goes to print without confirmation against PASSPort's own RFx record and its addenda.

Twenty-four packages on the board close today. Most of them will come and go the way deadline days do — quotes in, envelopes opened, everybody back to work. But two of today's doors are worth talking about, and one of them carries a lesson that'll save somebody real money.

Start with the lesson — the one this paper learned the hard way. The accessibility renovation of Kings County Supreme Court at 360 Adams Street — a DCAS competitive sealed bid, EPIN 85624B0007, carrying a $20 million agency estimate — is not closing today. Addendum 4, issued August 3, moved the bid to Wednesday, September 16 at 2 p.m., and the job is still open as you read this. The City Record's online notice still reads today at 10 a.m., because that record gets overwritten in place and never caught up past Addendum 3. The addendum PDFs in the agency's own document set are what control. If your pursuit list runs on the City Record alone, you are reading dates the agency stopped honoring two weeks ago — and that cuts both ways: it can hand you a phantom deadline, or hide five extra weeks you could have used.

Door number two closes this afternoon: the Holland Tunnel medium-voltage transformer replacement, Port Authority contract HT-224.209, advertised at $5 million to $10 million. This one went the familiar way — originally due July 28, extended by addendum, four addenda deep by opening day. Electrical houses that held their price through the extensions find out today where they stand.

And because it's Thursday, NYSDOT is opening envelopes at its weekly letting — today's Region 8 slate includes the curve-warning-sign twins, D265826 in Westchester and D265827 covering Orange and Rockland. Sign work doesn't make headlines, but a two-contract package on a standing letting calendar is exactly the kind of steady state work that keeps a small highway shop's year predictable.

The rest of today's list is the long tail that actually feeds most shops: Long Beach is replacing automatic entry doors (CR#2137687), Williston Park rebids the electrical work on its PFAS Well 4 treatment (bid 2026-02R, on the REV plan room), Patchogue opens its sewage-plant headworks and pump station upgrade (PATV2204), OPWDD closes two group-home kitchen renovations in Orange County, the NY 135 bridge replacement closes in Nassau (CR#2136723), and the John Jay Homestead restoration in Katonah takes bids alongside a same-day sub call from Andron Construction for M/WBE and SDVOB quotes on the Bedford House work. DCAS also rebids the sidewalk elevator at 210 Joralemon Street (85626B0011).

So here's the Thursday routine, and it isn't complicated: before you drive a bid anywhere, check the agency's addenda log one last time.
